NSS Special Camp

7 th Feb: Day 1:
NSS volunteers &amp; Programme Officer reached at 9.45 am at Awhalwadi Gram panchayat.
They had conversation with Sarpanch. Mr. Nitin Gholap and started to work on new voter’s
registration. Two NSS volunteers Ms Shrusti Bhosale &amp; Ms. Sakshi Salve started with new
voters’ registration &amp; updating. Rest of the NSS volunteers along with Programme Officer,
Dr Kalpana Salunkhe reached Prasadik Dindi hall which was 300 m away from gram
panchayat. NSS volunteers cleaned the hall, Khandoba Mandir and Nilakantheshwar Mandir
area. After this cleaning, NSS volunteers weeded the wild plants surrounding the area. In the
evening a session was organized for NSS volunteers and villagers. The topic was “Prime
Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojana -Bima Yojana’. The resource person was Prof. Prajal Sagle. He
guided the audience on ‘how to avail the
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana’. He
explained to the audience that with
marginal amount, an account can be
opened by every villager. Every person
would become financial literate, and
could gain access to credit, insurance and
pension facility.

8 th Feb 2024: Day 2
On this day, Sarpanch &amp; team visited NSS camp Domkhel Vasti Awhalwadi. They praised &amp;
encouraged NSS volunteers for the social activities. NSS volunteers visited Prathmik Shala
Vadjai. This school has 120 students studying in the std 1 st to 4 th . The schoolteachers Mrs.
Surekha Khose &amp; Mrs. Mayuri Kale helped NSS volunteers to conduct activities through
which they spread awareness about good health among primary school students, Vadjai. NSS
volunteers also conducted one act on ‘good touch and bad touch’ for female students to
spread awareness regarding gender sensitization &amp; self-protection. Also Drop out Survey of
120 primary school students was conducted. It was observed that no students had dropped out
during primary education, few students migrated due to their parents’ transfers. A guest
session was organized in the afternoon. The speaker narrated stories of Chatrapati Shivaji
Maharaj’s heroic deeds. This session was on the ‘life of Shivaji Maharaj &amp; Social Strategies
made by Chatrapati
Shivaji Maharaj’. The
speaker was Mr.
Mahesh Padwale- a
social worker from
Pune. Students and
villagers were
delighted after listening
to the speech.

9 TH Feb: Day 3
On this date students woke up early &amp; performed their morning ablutions. After that warming
up session was conducted. Students performed Yogasans, Pranayams which was followed by
marching. They sang a NSS song to get energized. Ms. Shrusti Bhosale, Ms. Sakshi Salve,
Ms. Prachi Aiwale resumed the work of new voters’ registration &amp; updating. Students &amp; NSS
PO visited Prathmik School Vadjai.
This area comes under Awhalwadi
Gram Panchayat. Volunteers put all
the students at ease. Total 110
students of class STD I to STD IV
students were present. NSS
Volunteers engaged all the students in
the various activities, so that they
could learn while having fun. Then
the NSS volunteers created health
awareness among the students
through their interactive talk. NSS
volunteers gave health tips to the
students supported with scientific

reasons. Volunteers had lunch in the afternoon and relaxed for 15 minutes. After that a guest
session was conducted for NSS students and the villagers. The resource person was Adv.
Vaishali Jadhav- a social worker and advocate-family court. Topic was “Population Control’.
She focused on the job opportunities &amp; per capita income in India. In the evening students
visited an ancient temple. Students performed meditation in the temple.

In the morning students performed pranayama. A rally was organized on environmental
pollution. After that they
cleaned the Domkhel Vasti area.
Then NSS volunteers and PO
visited Prathmik School
Awhalwadi. First Program
Officer met Tilgulkar Sir &amp;
Niswade Sir. With their kind
permission, volunteers
conducted gender sensitisation
activity for female students. 100
girls participated in the talk and
activities. NSS volunteers put all
the girls at ease to remove
phobia. Then they conducted
‘good touch bad touch’ activities
for all girls.

They spread awareness regarding self-
protection from such unpleasant experiences.
NSS volunteers trained the girls to protect
themselves from such incidents. After this
activity a session on ‘general precautions to
be taken for menstrual hygiene’ was
conducted by NSS volunteers. Next session
was conducted to spread the awareness
regarding the cervical cancer. The girl
students in the age group 12-15 were focused
and one to one interaction was conducted. A
set of questions was prepared by NSS
students. NSS volunteers had one to one
counseling with every girl student and
collected data regarding cervical cancer. No
major issues regarding menstrual cycle were noted. Some girls faced problems like irregular
menstrual cycle. At 4 pm a guest session was organized on the topic ‘Cyber Crimes &amp; Cyber
Security’. The resource person was Prof. Abhay Kand- Assistant Professor – Raisoni College
of Commerce, Wagholi.
