Gudi Padwa and Cheti Chand Celebration
Gudi Padwa and Cheti Chand were celebrated with great enthusiasm at SVIMS, showcasing cultural diversity and unity among students and faculty. Gudi Padwa, marking the Hindu New Year and the onset of spring, featured vibrant decorations at the college entrance, including rangoli and traditional motifs. The celebrations began with a welcome note by Dr. Niji, followed by rituals performed by students and faculty. A Gudi, symbolizing victory and prosperity, was erected and adorned with neem leaves, marigold flowers, and sugar crystals. Ms. Pranali from MBA I year shared insights into Gudi Padwa traditions in her hometown, while Ms. Pranali from MCA I year performed the traditional pooja.
Cheti Chand, the Sindhi New Year, commemorating Saint Jhulelal, was celebrated with rituals, prayers, and diya lighting to invoke blessings for prosperity and harmony. Ms. Vidhi from MBA I year led the prayers, and Ms. Arpita delivered a heartfelt speech narrating the story of Saint Jhulelal. Both celebrations fostered cultural harmony, reverence, and a sense of community at SVIMS.
