Promoting Health, Hygiene, And Well-Being: A Community Engagement Initiative
The Institute through its various initiatives, works to uplift communities, especially children
from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Recently, SVIMS- NSS student volunteers in
association with Sadhu Vaswani Mission visited Raigad Zila Parishad Schools in Katalachi
Wadi, Vinegaon, and Vankhalwadi (Tal. Khalapur, District Raigad), engaging 250 primary
students and 60 Aanganwadi children in activities aimed at promoting health and hygiene.
The focus of the visit was to educate students on personal health and hygiene, crucial aspects
of child development. The volunteers conducted fun, interactive activities under the guidance
of Ms. Pranali Rokade. Key activities included:
A group game emphasizing hygiene and cleanliness.
An activity teaching the importance of clean hands and personal hygiene.
A quiz incorporating hygiene-related questions for engaging learning.
These activities highlighted important messages on personal hygiene, reinforcing that good
hygiene is a fundamental right. Additionally, Ms. Muskan Sadhwani (NSS Volunteer-SVIMS)
and Mrs. Gita Shivdasani (Coordinator-Sadhu Vaswani Mission) discussed the importance of
hygiene that is a key to overall health.
To celebrate the students’ participation,
prizes were awarded, and gift kits
including school utensils, clothes, and
sweets were distributed, further
emphasizing the importance of care,
hygiene, and well-being. This initiative
was a valuable learning experience for
the children, instilling life skills related
to health, hygiene, and social
responsibility.
