With a view to prevent use of plastic and save the environment, we conducted a workshop  [28th August 2018] on making bags from the News Papers. Mrs. Nisha Gujarathi, the trainer  taught a group of 12 students how to make F-bags which can carry up to 1.5kgs of weight and  can be used to purchase daily grocery items; D-Bags which are multipurpose bags which can  carry up to 3kgs of weight; Box bags to  carry and store shoes ( up to 5kgs) and Shopping bags  which can carry up to 8 kgs of weight. The bags are very affordable and look trendy too.

Swachhata Pakhwada   

[1st Sept. ’18 to 15th Sept. ‘18]  


Day 1: 3rd September 2018  (Clean Campus Day);  Time: 2 to 3 pm  


The students were briefed by Faculty member Ms. Vaishali Patil about the Objectives of  “Swachhata Pakhwada” and its importance. The students put in their efforts to clean the  institute building.  


Day 2: 4th September 2018, Tuesday (Oath)  


Time: 12 to 1 pm  


Students took the  “Swachhata pledge” which captures the dream of clean India. The Oath is  to remain committed towards keeping the country neat and clean, by voluntarily devoting 100  hours per year voluntarily.   


Day 3: 6th September ‘18(Quiz on Cleanliness & Hygiene) 


Time: 2 to 3 pm 


A quiz competition based on “Question Bank on Swachch Bharat Mission and  Sanitation” was  conducted between MBA-I and MBA-II students.   


Day 4: 7th September 2018, Friday (Clean Surrounding Day)  


Time: 2 to 4 pm.  


Students were eager to participate in the Clean Surrounding Day wherein they were asked to  check whether the campus and the internal road/access road to SVIMS is clean or not. Where  ever they found garbage they cleaned it. 


Day 5: 10th Sept. ’18 (Prabhat Pheri)  


Time: 9 am to 10 am  


Students took out a Prabhat Pheri and visited nearby streets to spread the message of  Swachha Bharat.   


Day 6: 11th September 2018 (Street Play)  


Time: 2 to 4 pm  


Students prepared and performed a Street Play promoting cleanliness and hygiene& hygiene.  The street play focused on Swachch Bharat Mission-Gramin and created awareness about  hygiene and becoming responsible citizens.  


Day 7: 12th September 2018 (Video on Swachch Bharat))  


Time: 2 to 3 pm  


An award winning motivational video on Swachcha Bharat was shown to make students realize  how a postman brings change in the society and thus how individuals can take initiative and  bring a change.   


Day 8: 14th September 2018 (Cleaning the Surroundings)  


Time: 2 to 3 pm  


Students cleansed the surrounding campus by collecting dried leaves and plastic.
